I must admit that I have been a bike glove freak ever since I can remember. For me gloves are a must while riding for protection and for comfort. So when Giro asked me to test their new Rodeo glove, it was hard for me to say no.
About Giro
Over 30 years ago, Giro was established by Jim Gentes, a visionary captivated by design and fulfilling unmet demands. This fixation drove him to craft his own solutions, birthing a company dedicated to empowering riders through personal expression and cutting-edge performance.
While our world has undergone profound changes in these past three decades, they have remained unwaveringly devoted to catering to avid cyclists. They proudly assert their identity as a brand rooted in product excellence.
They deliberate tirelessly over minute differences, whether it’s the subtle adjustment of a footwear last, the curvature of a headform, or the precision of a vent’s edge. They are the brand that obsesses over the minutiae.
From entry-level helmets to the fit and feel of their garments, to the reassuring click of the Switchblade’s chinbar engagement, every detail matters. It’s this meticulous attention to detail that distinguishes Giro.
They recognize that cycling transcends mere pastime or trendโit’s the cornerstone of a fulfilling life, and your gear warrants scrutiny down to the smallest element. Because you persist in your pursuit, they persist in theirs.
As long as you strive for greater speed, larger challenges, and superior performance, they’ll continue crafting the equipment that propels you forward.
The Rodeo glove
The new Rodeo glove is intended for the wild times on the bike and we put it through the paces at the sharp end of the hardest Enduro races the world has to offer. Combining a minimalist palm with maximalist protection from D3Oโข Ghost two-knuckle coverage, Rodeo enhances bar feel without giving up confidence. The stretch AX Suedeยฎ hydrophobic palm made with post-consumer recycled polyester propels this glove into a fit that focuses on function and allows it to virtually disappear on the hand. Go ahead, let ‘er buck.

Touchscreen technology:
Capacitive touchscreens found on most mobile devices react to natural bio-electricity in your skin. By combining a conductive fiber into the fingertips of select Giro gloves, you can stay connected to your mobile device without removing your gloves.

Testing
It happened from late April to mid-May, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 22 degrees Celsius, all while engaging in mountain and gravel biking.
I must confess, I’m a huge fan of minimalist gloves and the sensation of almost being bare-handed with them. The Rodeo delivers comfort and breathability without compromising protection. The sizing is spot-on, and the stitching is flawless. Let’s not overlook the D30 Ghost technology shielding two knuckles precisely where neededโideal for encounters with branches while riding. Furthermore, I fully appreciated the silicon palm print during my mountain biking excursions.
In conclusion
For quite a few years now, I’ve been a devotee of minimalist gloves, and I must say, the Giro Rodeo surpasses over a dozen different models I’ve tested in terms of comfort and breathability. Priced at $35.00 USD, it’s a product I wholeheartedly recommend.
