Last spring, I was asked to test a set of technical mountain biking clothing. At the same time, I had the pleasure of discovering and getting to know moreover about the local, Canadian company, Apogee Sport. This review presents a description and my impressions of the Touareg Long Sleeve Jersey. But first, here’s what you need to know about Apogee Sport;

TOUAREG LONG SLEEVE JERSEY
The Touareg Jersey is designed with their โโAPOGEE Elite Fit, Nano Techโโ. The Italian Apogee Nano Tech fabric ensures moisture management and breathability; it is a 100% polyester Italian fabric. Most of the jersey is like a mesh fabric, except for a band that covers the upper arms and shoulders. This makes it extremely lightweight and, above all, breathable.ย
This jersey has long and ergonomic sleeves with narrower cuffs. The fit at the wrist helps the jersey stay close to the body, without being too tight. On the other hand, I can’t really roll up my sleeves very high if I want to. It’s a reflex I often have with my long sleeve jersey when I’m hot. But here the Touareg Long Sleeve is so breathable that it’s unnecessary.
There is a small side pocket at bottom right, with YKK vislon zipper. You can hold cards, gels or bars if you want. It’s not something I particularly use, but I know it can always come in handy when you want to ride as lightly as possible.
Even though it’s a long-sleeved jersey, it’s ideal for sunny summer days. In addition to being super-breathable, it offers UPF 50 sun protection. Lastly, I hate when the collars on my shirt go up too high. This one, on the Touareg Long Sleeve Jersey is perfect. The design of their MTB collection jersey has a comfortable MTB scoop neck.
TO CONCLUDE
I have to admit I was a bit surprised by the size I had to take to be comfortable. I habitually wear between two sizes, medium and large. It usually depends on the brand and the fit I want. Therefore, I went directly to their Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures shop to get the right fit for me. They offered me EXCELLENT on-site service. I was very well received and answered. It turned out that the ideal size for me was X-Large. With this size, this jersey fits very well on me and Iโm very comfortable.
Take time to check your measurements to get the right size before placing an order. On the website, I found that the size chart was unhighlighted. However, when you type Apogee Sport size chart in the search bar of a web page, you can easily find the link. Apogee is a superb Canadian company, offering top-quality products and excellent customer service. I highly recommend this brand!
