CANYON BICYCLES ANNOUNCES ARRIVAL IN CANADA

A few days after officially sealing a new partnership with Belgian investment company Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) and co-investor Tony Fadell, Canyon Bicycles have announced their launch into a new market. From 16 March customers with Canadian delivery addresses will be able to order bikes and gear directly to their home on a new Canada-specific version of the canyon.com webshop. Canyon’s 2017 USA launch marked the company’s introduction into North America. And with this latest announcement, the top German direct-sales brand is taking a further step into the continent: and a step into one of the most active and vibrant bike communities in the world.

Canyon will manage all activities in this new market directly from the company headquarters in Koblenz, Germany. For Canadian customers, this means a direct line to Canyon’s HQ. Selected English and French-speaking service agents will be ready with buying advice, assistance with bike delivery and assembly issues, and after-sales support. All available via email, web chat, and phone during the Global Service Centre’s standard opening hours. Bikes and accessories will all be shipped directly from the Koblenz warehouse. UPS, a long-term logistics partner of Canyon, will take care of delivery. Furthermore, customers needing help with assembly and maintenance can call upon the mobile services of velofix, a long-established expert service partner of Canyon in the United States.

“Canada has an immensely vibrant bike scene,” says Canyon CEO Armin Landgraf. “In the west, around Calgary and Vancouver, we expect mainly MTB and gravity fans – especially at Whistler, an absolute hotspot for the scene! And in the east – around Montreal and in Quebec and Toronto, we expect more activity in the road and gravel sectors. We’re super excited to finally connect with our Canadian fans!”

Ready for the market launch on 16 March 2021, Canyon has defined a portfolio of bikes specifically adapted to the anticipated demands of the Canadian market. The line-up comprises models across all of Canyon’s bike worlds: MTB and gravity, road, gravel and cyclocross, triathlon, and urban and fitness. And with a roster of top-level Canadian athletes, including triathlete Lionel Sanders, the Canyon MTB Racing cross-country team with Emily Batty and Laurie Arsenault, and Canyon CLLCTV rider Mark Wallace, Canyon is already well established in the country’s pro sports scene. A full events calendar will be announced as soon as the Covid-19 situation allows.
