During the cold season I am a big fan of polar fleece for the simple reason that paired with a base layer, you can be warm for a very long time and still have free movements. It was hard to say no when Cotopaxi asked me to test their Abrazo half-zip fleece jacket.
About Cotopaxi
Adventure inspires them to see the world and make it better. That’s why they build gear that fuels both outdoor experiences and global change. To achieve their mission, we dedicate at least 1% of our revenue to nonprofits that help communities experiencing poverty.
Gear for Good®
Their Gear for Good® promise is to make durable gear as ethically and sustainably as possible, and to use their company as a way to support communities in need.
Reduce Inequality
They focus on empowering communities in Latin America through health care, education, and livelihood. They allocate 1% of our revenue to the Cotopaxi Foundation, which supports nonprofits, including the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and United to Beat Malaria. To ensure their giving is effective, they use double-blind studies and proven methodologies.
The Mountain
One of the world’s highest active volcanoes, Cotopaxi (koh-toh-PAHK-see) in Ecuador had a major presence in Davis’s life—even his school was named for it. The mountain’s glacial streams, wild llamas, and countless trails instilled in him the spirit of adventure and gratitude that eventually inspired him to found Cotopaxi the company.

Testing
The testing occurred during the winter season while doing ski hoc, hiking and simple everyday use and I must admit that this jacket is really comfortable, warm and the fit is perfect. I used their size guide and it indicated that I was wearing medium size and it was the right one.
The chest pocket is big enough to fit my cell phone, wallet and other medium sized stuff.
The two hands pocket is practical when you want to warm up a little bit or even put your keys in. The zipper length is also perfect when you are multi layering since you can properly ventilate if needed (a big plus while I hike or ski hoc).
In conclusion
I really like this jacket and I am using it on a weekly basis with my Fuego down vest. It is a must in your wardrobe and for a 120.00$ cad, I recommend it.
