Last year, in the autumn season, I had the chance to test the Trail Ripper Pants from a very renowned brand; Volcom. This year, I tested another pair from them, but this time it is the Trail Ripper Shorts. Both look similar, but for me, they are complementary. Here is what I note for these shorts.

Trail Ripper Shorts
The Trail Ripper Shorts are the short version of Volcom mountain bike pants. They are perfect for warm and sunny days. They are lightweight, durable and waterproof but yet breathable. Which makes them ideal for long days on your bike during summer time.
- The sizes are faithful. I usually wear a size 34 in my pants, so I tried size 34 in the Trail Ripper and they fit perfectly. They are neither too tight or too loose.
- There are two Velcro adjustments at the waist towards the back of the pants. I didnโt have to do many adjustments.
- In addition, the thighs arenโt too tight, and the length is just perfect! I hate when the shorts arrive over my knees. The Trail Ripper Shorts covered the knees. I also found them comfortable with a pair of knee protection. I felt free in my movements.
- One thing I particularly like is the two large and deep pockets, secured by two zippers. They allow me to keep my belongings directly on me when Iโm not carrying a backpack on my rides.
With 48% recycled polyester, 43% polyester and 9% elastane, these shorts are designed with fabrics that facilitate mobility. The inner face is soft fabric which makes them very comfortable on the skin. They are water repellent finish, so they dry pretty rapidly and do not accumulate too much dirt. When I travel, I donโt have the chance to wash my mountain bike clothes each time I use them. I can easily wear the Trail Ripper pants several days in a row, without having to wash them. It is very useful.
To Conclude
I’ve purchased and tried different brands of mountain bike shorts in the past and the Trail Ripper Shorts offered by Volcom are exceptional in their design. The quality of the material they used makes me think these shorts will last over time. I highly recommend these pants to all mountain bikers, whether you’re a beginner or an expert.
