When Allday Magazine invited me to test some Cotopaxi products this winter, I was genuinely excited. Among the products I got, there was the Salto Insulated Flannel Jacket. Being a guy who spends a lot of time in the forest, I couldn’t pass up this reversible casual and lumberjack’s style checkered jacket.

The Salto Insulated Flannel Jacket
What is great about the Salto Insulated Flannel Jacket is the two different styles offered in the same garment. On one hand you have the comforting flannel jacket, with gorgeous color combinations and checkered design. Mine is the ‘’Wood Plaid’’ design, which is blue, green and orange. On the other side, you have a more neutral style produced with Salto ripstop. This side is camo green, which gives it a military look that I really like. The shell material is waterproof, but for a light rain. The shell is made of 70% cotton, 28% nylon, 2% spandex. The lining inside is made of 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, reducing the impact on soil, water and biodiversity.
This jacket is suitable for all kinds of daily activities, as much for work as for going out in town. This jacket really fits my style. This jacket has both a ‘’lumberjack’s feel and a western, modern cowboy. On the neutral side, it has two hand pockets. On the flannel side, it has two chest pockets. Therefore, it distinctly provides two looks. The jacket closes with press studs. It also adjusts at the wrist with snaps too. It’s comfortable on both sides, but I slightly prefer to wear it on the more neutral side, since the flannel is a little warmer and more comfortable on my skin; when I’m only wearing a t-shirt underneath for example.
To conclude
The Salto Flannel Jacket is a lightly insulated jacket. I found it perfect for autumn and spring weather. Even a cold summer night around the campfire. Like all the Cotopaxi products I have tried so far, this jacket is well made. It is produced with good, quality and resistant products. I am pretty convinced this jacket will last over time, thanks to its quality of construction. In addition, its look will never go out of fashion. This has become my Go-To jacket and I recommend it all the way. I think it can be a wonderful gift for someone. There is, moreover, a women’s version of this great product.
