WTB recently reached out to me to test their Resolute tires in the 700×50 size, sending them under embargo before the official release. This opportunity gave me an early glimpse into what these tires could offer for a range of gravel adventures. After several weeks of rigorous testing across varied terrains, I can confidently share my thoughts on how these tires performed.

Testing
For testing, I took the Resolute tires across a wide range of conditions, from loose gravel roads to muddy trails and everything in between. On hard-packed gravel, the tires rolled efficiently, allowing for quick acceleration and maintaining speed with minimal resistance. The tightly spaced center knobs provided excellent traction on smooth sections, while the outer knobs gripped confidently when navigating loose or wet surfaces.
When the terrain turned more technical, the Resolute tires really shined. On rocky paths and rough trails, the larger volume and supple casing absorbed impacts effectively, reducing fatigue over longer rides. The grip was reliable even on steep inclines and during sudden descents, giving me the confidence to push my limits without worrying about losing control. In muddy conditions, the open tread pattern cleared debris efficiently, preventing mud from clinging and impacting the tire’s performance.
I also had the chance to test these tires in wet weather, and I was impressed by their stability and control. The Resolute tires offered consistent grip, even on slick surfaces, allowing me to navigate wet corners with confidence. Over several hundred kilometers of diverse terrain, the tires showed minimal signs of wear, maintaining their integrity and performance throughout the test period.
