2020 ETNIES MARANA CRANK MTB SHOES REVIEW

When I saw that Etnies was releasing a new bike shoe, I told myself that it was simply a rebadged skateboard shoe. Until I got a pair…

The Marana crank looks like a skateboard shoe but this is where the comparison stops. At the sole level, they worked with Michelin, and I was not disappointed on the adherence level.

The rigidity of the sole coupled with my Race Face Performance Products Chesters makes the Marana formidable in mountain biking. We don’t have the impression that the sole will press in and puncture.

On the liner level, it was created with quick dry Thinsulate to keep your feet dry. Etnies have put the stiffest shank. Also, the shoe is treated with Scotchgard so it makes it stain resistant. The shoe has a nice balance of rigidity and flexibility to have a nice liberty of movement.

After more than 40 hours with this shoe in the trails, the Etnies Marana crank has nothing to envy to the competition and with a retail price of $150 CAD, we have an excellent price/quality ratio. For me it’s bye bye clipless shoes and hello flat pedals. Thanks to Timebomb Trading and etnies.

Ever since he can remember he was riding bikes not being attracted to video games. In his teenage years he was racing bikes until he had a big accident that slowed him down and at a certain point he stopped riding. It is few years later that came he back on a bike and got the ‘’bug’’ again to be more serious about it and started a bike related blog. It is after a trip during covid that he realized that it would be great to talk about all his outdoor passions but with the perspective to inform the regular non technical people. This is how Allday magazine was born.
