2020 MOUNTAIN BIKE GLOVES REVIEW

For me, a glove has to be a second skin on our hand. Both comfortable, tight, flexible and good size. Whether on road bike or mountain biking, I still wear the same type of gloves. There are a multitude of models for a price of about $ 39.99 cad and I’ve tried 4 pairs for you. From right to left:

Garneau Elan gel 39.99$:

Having the mountain bike trails closed, I had the opportunity to try them with my road bike and after more than 700 km they didn’t disappoint. The size of the glove is perfect and leaves no doubt that I’m wearing a medium. Also, I didn’t have any adaptation time to stretch the fabric and be comfortable with this one. Whether it’s at temperatures of 7 or 25 degrees, breathable mesh fabrics do the work well and the palm of the synthetic leather hand brings a good grip on the handlebar.A negative point comes out for me quickly, Velcro positioning. In addition, to have better wrist flexibility, I suggest putting it below and not on top.

Sombrio Spun gloves 39.99$:

A minimalist and breathable glove with incredible flexibility. I haven’t had a moment of discomfort with this glove and the size is perfect. The grip on the handlebar is excellent. If you’re looking for a glove with a certain padding at the palm level, this is not the right glove for you.

Sombrio Prodigy Gloves 39.99 $:

A minimalist and breathable glove with good flexibility. I haven’t had a moment of discomfort with this glove and the size is perfect. Adding silicone to the fingers greatly improves braking when wet.If you’re looking for a glove with a certain padding at the palm level, this is not the right glove for you.

Fox Racing Canada Dirtpaw gloves 32.99$:

I’ve had this pair for about a year and they still act like day one. They have a protection zone at the joints and padding at the palm level. Velcro is in the right place which gives no discomfort in the wrist. In conclusion, Fox Racing Dirtpaw gloves is my favorite model at any point. For $ 32, we really have for our money! The Prodigy come good second for the minimalist side and comfort.

Ever since he can remember he was riding bikes not being attracted to video games. In his teenage years he was racing bikes until he had a big accident that slowed him down and at a certain point he stopped riding. It is few years later that came he back on a bike and got the ‘’bug’’ again to be more serious about it and started a bike related blog. It is after a trip during covid that he realized that it would be great to talk about all his outdoor passions but with the perspective to inform the regular non technical people. This is how Allday magazine was born.
